the retiring, Betty Strifier, has set in motion an excellentent format for public relations and I feel I can only continue with that and of course keep up with techknowlgy in providing better service as it develops in what ever form it comes in.
I am well qualified and feel I can do a great job as I have done in the many businesses I have managed in my 40 years of management. I feel I am amply qualified to provide the necessary leadership to run this office.
I have a proven track record in the management of the businesses I have run . I realize that the core of any good business is the employees and I have learned that you have to treat them with the same dignity and respect you want to offer the same in operation of any business
compling with the state mandates of the job which are broken into three major catigories, 1. maintain all county records, 2. interact with the court system, and 3. accounting and funding for the county. After that there are many jobs of equal importance, but all falling under the three major duties
keeping up with technology and making the new improvements as they are developed.
While I beleive in the sunshine laws I have witnessed their abuse over the years. Open records are the law, but they have not been cleared of social security numbers off documents from years past and that is a problem they say is the responsiblity of the owner. All laws are made for a purpose, but are they all worthwhile that is a matter of individual opinion and I realize they sometimes are not.
The budget for this year is $4,932,741.00 and they have 89 emploees

1) Implement online juror excusals via the Clerk's website. The Clerk will install software for the purpose of allowing jurors to submit request for excusals online thereby streamlining the excusal process. This feature will be a tremendous convenience saving time and money for the citizens. 2) Increase options for online, ACH and EFT payments. Promote and implement ACH/EFT payment/receipting options where feasible for payments collected/remitted by the Clerk.
I love my job. Over the past 22+ years, I have worked in every area of the Clerk's Office where the daily goal is to provide exemplary service and support to thousands of citizens, our legal and business community, and hundreds of partnering agencies. I find it extremely gratifying when we are able to provide assistance or, make a process more convenient or, partner successfully with another agency to increase efficiency thereby save everyone time and money. I hope for the opportunity to maintain excellent standards of service and performance, all the while seeking ways to improve the way we do business to better serve our citizens and partnering agencies.
I have 22 years of hands on experience as a deputy clerk and, for the past five, as the Chief Deputy Clerk overseeing all areas of operation.
The Clerk is an automanous officer who provides oversight for all County financial matters, maintains all official records, and manages all case files for all partners of the Judicial system and our citizens.
Education is the first step. Being proactive in reaching out to our community by visiting local associations and organizations to share the role of the Clerk and to make them aware of the many online services is an outreach that I will continue. I currently serve on the Student Advisory Council for WTI. It is my intention to reach out to our schools to share the role of the Clerk with our students and encourage their interest in our local government and Judicial structure.
I am fully committed to transparency and accessibility to all public records in compliance with F.S. 119 and other applicable standards. Yes, they are worthwhile. Transparency brings accountability and any public servant should embrace this expectation.
