Education I attended Hamilton Local Schools k-12, STNA Nursing Program . Certification in Communications, Finance,
Experience I am in my fourth year as a council woman for the village of Obetz, I am an active member in our community, our schools and have had the opportunity to serve our residents on a daily basis with the support they need.
Family Together with my spouse Wayne Kirk , I am a mother of four children and I have a total of five grandchildren.
I am an experienced member of Obetz Council, finishing my fourth year in office. Serving as the Chairperson of the Recreation and Parks Committee of Council, I have overseen the grand opening of Fortress Obetz, Area 51 Disc Golf Course, and the Braehead Nature preserve in 2017. Our budget is stronger than any time in the history of the Village. We have the strongest housing market in Franklin County, thousands of new jobs, and successes for the people of Obetz stacking up frequently. Understanding how to plan and implement our community’s vision is a skill I am proud to possess.
Infrastructure, infrastructure, infrastructure. Like most local governments, Obetz will always have to work hard to ensure the highest quality infrastructure to our residents. New roads, sewers, quality water, walking paths, and recreation areas are expensive to build and maintain; but, critical to the quality of life for our residents. We have to be great long-range planners and to be disciplined in our commitment to make Obetz an excellent place to live.

I would like to continue the plans we have to overhaul our park system over the next five years. Additionally, I want to make Obetz a walkable, attractive place where the residents can be outside and interact with one another; and, enjoy the spirit of our community. Every project is unique and no financing is a one-size-fits-all. We look at every option, every time, and choose the one that makes the most sense for our residents. I work closely with the school and other local agencies I will continue to build these relationships.
I will continue to work hard and be accessible to all residents who need my assistance.

I am never off the clock . I take this position as an elected official seriously . I enjoy being able to serve my community and have built great relationships with the residents in our community. I will continue to make every effort to resolve any issues that are of concern to our village. I continue to value the hard working people of our village and hope that you will re-elect me in November to continue working for all of us.

I have come to think of myself as more than a just resident. I have had the privilege of serving on the Planning & Zoning Commission of Obetz for the past 2 years, where we work to protect public health, safety, and the general well-being of the community. I have volunteered at Zucchinifest and at the lacrosse games. As a resident, I have attended nearly every village council meeting for the past two years to learn more about how the village works. I am proud to tell friends and coworkers everything that our village is accomplishing, and that I am from Obetz.

As our village continues to evolve, we must always be looking to the next step. I believe that Obetz is on the right path, and that I am capable of supporting, as well as encouraging our community to strive for more. I hope now to serve the community in a role with greater responsibilities, and that is why I would greatly appreciate your vote for village council on November 7th.
Within the next few years, Obetz will need to consider the replacement of its water towers, which are nearing the end of their lifespan. The village will need to decide whether it wants to replace the towers with similar capacities, or if it wants to further expand its capabilities and capacity, to provide more water to the residents of Obetz, and be less dependent on Columbus water. As this project becomes more critical, the village also needs to create a utilities commission, so that council, citizens, and businesses are all represented as the village makes this important decision.

Obetz has a great relationship with the Fire and EMS departments from Hamilton Township and Madison Township. The council needs to continue to encourage further cooperation between our village and the townships. There are many areas where the village can, and should, collaborate with the townships more often.
I arrived in Obetz 11 years ago, shortly after graduating with my engineering degree from the University of Toledo. Over the past decade, the transformations I have seen here are nothing short of incredible. Our village has expanded our parks and attracted employers offering more jobs than our residents could ever fill. Obetz has built a hospital, new restaurants, retailers, and even a stadium. Fortress Obetz is home to a professional sports franchise, Zucchinifest, and countless other concerts and events.

My daughters have been involved in tee ball and cheerleading within Obetz Athletics, as well as the Zucchinifest pageant. We are active members in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Groveport. My wife is a local Girl Scout leader within our community. Our family also enjoys gardening. We grow fruits, vegetables (plenty of zucchini of course), and herbs to provide fresh food for our family and to stay healthy.
