Experience Although this is my first experience running for public office, I have 18 years of experience as an educator within the public school system.
Family My husband, Mike, and I have three adult children, and one son, who is in middle school in Jefferson Local Schools.
1) Fiscally responsible practices and proactive planning will ensure that our district is not only viable, but successful today, and in the future. I support student-centered, fiscal responsibility and transparency to ensure the district is prepared.

2) In order to successfully graduate, students must perform at a higher level than in the past. I will support improved curriculum and instructional practices K-12 to meet diverse student needs and increase achievement. This includes rigorous programs that prepare high school students for a successful college experience and/or career readiness in technical fields, skill trades and work in the public sector.

3) Our district's greatest resource is a dedicated teaching staff. Retaining and supporting talented teachers, who are committed to students and community, is crucial to the Jefferson Local's success.
I am a graduate of West Jefferson High School. My husband and I chose to raise and educate our children within Jefferson Local School District. With this, I bring a deep understanding of the strengths and needs in our district as a former graduate, and a parent. As an educator I have worked in a team with fellow educators and parents to ensure the success of students, who have unique talents and challenges. My daily work requires that I constantly use data to measure progress toward objectives and solve problems, which is necessary to make instructional decisions. This combined, life and professional experience allows me to understand challenges and problems faced by the district from multiple viewpoints, and approach the Board's work with a deep commitment to residents of Jefferson Local School District.
As a candidate for Jefferson Local School Board, I will have no other agenda other than the success of our children in the classroom and as active members of our community.
