I am running to restore public trust to the office of Commonwealth's Attorney in Boone and Gallatin Counties.Public trust is important for all public offices, but it is especially important for those in the criminal justice system. The current Commonwealth's Attorney, Linda Tally Smith, has lost the public trust due to the numerous scandals that have plagued her office in the last year.

Prosecutors have a solemn responsibility to seek justice. They cannot bend or break the rules to avoid embarrassment or to obtain a conviction at all cost. That is why I am running.
I began my career as a prosecutor in the Boone County Attorney's office where I prosecuted thousands of cases including jury trials, felony preliminary hearings, and child abuse cases. I then left that office to work in private practice at the law firm of Adams, Stepner, Woltermann, & Dusing, where I am a partner. Over the past ten years, I have defended numerous criminal cases all across NKY.

In addition to my criminal work, I have substantial experience in complex litigation. I have successfully defended cases at all stages including summary judgment, trial, and in appellate cases before the KY Court of Appeals and Supreme Court. I also prosecute cases on behalf of the Kentucky Judicial Conduct Commission, which brings actions against Judges for ethical violations.

Not only do I have the trial experience to successfully prosecute cases, I have the private sector experience to make the office more efficient and responsive.
