I am running for the position of Boone County Jailer because I want to continue to serve the citizens of Boone County, oversee the management of all Deputy Jailers and ensure a safe and secure jail in my community. I began my career at the Boone County Jail as a correctional officer in 1997. Through hard work and demonstration of outstanding supervisory and management skills I was promoted several times over my 21 years of service at the Boone County Jail. On March, 2018 I was appointed to the position of Boone County Jailer after the retirement of the previous Jailer Ed Prindle. I want to continue to run the jail with the same high standards and proud traditions instilled by Mr. Prindle.
I feel that I am the best candidate because I understand how to oversee and manage a correctional facility. Throughout my 21 years of service to the Boone County Jail I have worked at all levels of the organization. I started my career in 1997 as a Deputy Jailer and demonstrated hard work and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 1999. In 2004 I was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and was promoted again in 2015 to the rank of Captain. On March 1, 2018 I was appointed to the position of Boone County Jailer after the retirement of the previous Jailer Ed Prindle. Each promotion brought more knowledge and understanding of how to supervise and manage the Boone County Jail. My 21 years of experience of actually working at and managing the Boone County Jail make me the best candidate for the position of Boone County Jailer.
