Campaign Message Protecting the environment is central to promoting smart growth and livability within Kenton County. In the role of Kenton County Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor, I will increase awareness of the Conservation Districts activities, especially among residents of the county who may not be aware of financial and educational assistance available to them through the district’s outreach programs. Only through the collective application of sustainable best practices will we ensure Kenton County remains a great place to live and work.
As a first-time candidate for public office, an avid outdoorsman and long-time Kenton County resident, I recognize the importance of sustainable environmental management practices in the reduction of soil erosion, water quality improvement and preservation of natural resources. I am eager to help advance and promote the District’s programs and efforts. I’m particularly interested in enhancing the focus on urban and suburban residents of the county who can benefit from access to assistance provided by the District while preserving and protecting traditional farming open space in rural parts of the county. Kenton County has provided great opportunities for me and my family. I’m motivated and committed to give back to the community that has blessed us in so many ways.
I have more than 20 years of experience providing services to federal, state and local governments. This includes the management of complex environmental projects and operational facilities, such as, the EPA Experimental Stream Facility in Milford, one of only a few research facilities in the U.S. designed to conduct small stream research. Kenton County must be prepared to tackle future conservation challenges and, with my experience, the Conservation District will be better positioned to deliver necessary solutions. With many years of experience working collaboratively and gaining consensus within interagency committees, I’m a firm believer in leveraging partnerships to help achieve the Conservation District’s objectives. I will develop relationships with nontraditional stakeholders to enhance the effectiveness of educational and preservation programs in support of the Districts overall conservation mission. My leadership will complement and enhance the Conservation District Board
