I am proud to include among my supporters current teachers and principals, retired teachers, business & faith leaders and elected officials. I am especially proud of the endorsements of those who have worked most closely with me over the last 4 years on the board, fellow board of education members Jesica Jehn & Carla Egan. Most of all I am proud to have the endorsement and support of my wife, Sara and my 3 year old and 5 year olds Eli & Sylvia who sometimes have to forgo time with their dad because they know that the work he is doing is far too important for Kenton County to not do.
Low Taxes, Safe Schools and a World Class Education for ALL OUR KIDS
I am running for re-election to the Kenton Co. School Board because I am eager to continue our work toward a world-class education. As a Ft. Wright Elem. parent, I value the high quality education my child receives. As an educational advocate, I am personally vested in ensuring all Kenton Co. children are prepared for a bright future. As a homeowner, I appreciate our lower property tax burden and ability to attract new businesses and residents to our district. I am proud of our success over the last 4 years. As a School Board we maintained the lowest tax burden of all of the districts in NKY, made all of our schools safer, moved to all day kindergarten without raising taxes, and became a both a ‘distinguished school district’ & ‘district of distinction’. I am proud of my record, hard work, and perspective that I bring to the Kenton Co. Board of Education. I'm asking for your vote so that we can keep the momentum going and provide ALL OUR KIDS and OUR COUNTY a world-class education.
Aside from 4 years of proven leadership on the board, I am the best candidate because I bring the right PERSPECTIVE to the board. What makes me a good candidate? I am well informed, thoughtful and persuasive, I care deeply about the importance of public education & always try to do what is right for our kids. Our current board of education has the perspective of retired teachers, parents and grandparents who represent well the different segments of our county. While, I bring my legal knowledge, it is my expertise in education law and my perspective as a parent, advocate and as someone who runs a business that truly makes me the best candidate. I am not a rubber stamp; I ask questions, sometimes many questions and challenge ideas when they are unclear. I work hard to ensure that every that every idea is thoroughly vetted and challenge old ways of doing things so that we can continue to grow into a world-class district for ALL OUR KIDS.
Unlike many districts in Kentucky, I am proud that the Kenton Co. School Board has NOT been cutting services but rather adding services while keeping the lowest tax rate of all of the districts in NKY. Thanks to the excellent leadership of the Kenton Co. Board of Education and our exceptional administration and staff along with our strong financial practices and good stewardship we levy a tax rate lower than at least 50 other districts in Kentucky. Yet, we have added services like ALL Day kindergarten and safety officers in all of our schools and achieve at top levels of performance.
Ensuring that our schools are well funded, that teachers are well paid and that we have the programs in place to ensure that our kids are ready for college/career / military/trade School and are well equipped to be contributing members to our community is the most important role of a member of the board of education. Over the last 4 years, we have been able to show that through sound financial management and ensuring that each of your tax dollars is well spent, our district can achieve at the highest levels without taxing people to death. I am committed to keeping our taxes low while continuing provide world-class education opportunities for ALL OUR KIDS.

An Educator Who Knows Kenton County Schools
I want to serve as a school board member because I believe a quality education for all students is the cornerstone of a productive and thriving community. As a former elementary teacher with 32 years of experience in Kenton County classrooms, I know Kenton County Schools and I care about Kenton County students. My daughter, son and I are proud graduates of Kenton County Schools. My young granddaughter is currently enrolled in the Kenton County School District. Kenton County Schools have always served as an important part of my life. I am highly qualified to serve as a strong voice for our children, our parents, our educators and our Kenton County community.
I am the best school board candidate because of my 32 years teaching experience working directly with Kenton County students, parents and educators. I have first hand knowledge of what is needed to continue moving Kenton County Schools forward to ensure that all students are college and career ready upon graduation. I understand the importance of working as a community to make sure all children are given the opportunity to succeed and reach their highest potential. My experience working directly with our students and educators has prepared me to make wise, well-informed decisions on behalf of the children, educators and school community of Kenton County Schools.
It is not my intent to cut any services in Kenton County Schools. Together we will continue to review and evaluate the impact of programs to ensure that all students are college and career ready upon graduation.
I will work to ensure that the Kenton County School District remains fiscally efficient with the funding provided.
