Biographical Information

Were you pleased with how district officials spent new Local Control Funding Formula dollars this past school year? How would you like to see the new dollars spent this year?

School districts across the state are adjusting to the new Common Core standards. Is the district doing enough to prepare teachers and students for the new standards? What, if anything, would you change about how schools transition to this new way of teaching?

In your opinion, what are the district's top three challenges? How would you address each of these issues?

Do you favor or oppose Proposition 55, which would extend by 12 years the temporary income tax increase enacted in 2012 to support schools and colleges?

Is technology in education important? Is the district doing enough to get devices into the hands of kids? If so, how would you help improve access to technology, especially for low-income or other at-risk students?

Why are you the best candidate to serve on the school board? (Text or YouTube video.)

Some teachers were layed off due to money shortages. I would like any new money received to be spent on teachers to create better teacher to student ratio
Common Core standards is to better prepare our students for college. The district is on the third year of implementing common core it has been a challenge but that is common when you introduce new curriculum. I would talk to the teachers and get feed back from them and get ideas from them because they are the ones who are teaching common core.
Consistency Work with all employees, school board members and administrators to come to a common goal and see that goal to the end. Students leaving the district As a district we need to offer a better product to our students and by hiring the best teachers and administrators we can accomplish this Unauthorized spending We need to be transparent to the public to gain their trust back so they have confidence in their elected officials.
In favor
Yes it's important, tablets have been given to the high school and jr high students I would like have classes on technology and target lower income and at risk students.
I am running on my own so the decisions I make will be based on what's best for our students not any special interest. I have a child attending Parlier and in 4 years I will have two so the decisions I make will directly effect them.
