1. Because of the state earthquake laws a new hospital must be built by 2030. If the citizens believe a hospital in Visalia is desirable they will need to vote for a new bond issue to satisfy this law. To address a number of misconceptions and misunderstandings I think KDHCD needs to host numerous public meetings to address the issues raised by the public and to explain the many excellent services in health care now being provided by KDHCD. 2. Continue the mission of KDHC to provide the best modern health care for the people of Visalia and the surrounding area. KDHC continually needs to evaluate the need for nurses, doctors and vital modern equipment to provide the best health care possible so that local residents do not have to travel considerable distances out of Visalia for care in what may be life saving situations. This involves continual training of staff and resident physicians, and attracting new doctors with various medical disciplines to reside in Visalia. 3. To ensure the highest quality of care continue to address the vast amount of regulations pertaining to health care and hospital operations. This has become a demanding and overwhelming issue. Staff members must be continually trained to constantly monitor and evaluate every patient and record the data pertaining to their admission and stay in the hospital.
I have had a long career in finance and management. I worked for over 30 years in banking with assignments in training, branch manager, and being a regional administrator supervising over 50 banks with responsibilities for training, personnel, operations, and business development. After retiring I spent several years with International Executive Service Corp. working with small businesses and farmers in 16 developing countries to assist in improving their management, operations, training of employees, profitability, and their lives. I hope that with my background in finance and management that I can make a positive contribution to the future decisions that Kaweah Delta will experience.
