#1. We need a new acute-care hospital by 2030 to meet the seismic requirements passed back in 1994. There are several options to accomplish this without putting a large tax burden on the citizens of the district. I will actively promote and pursue those options.

#2. Kaweah Delta needs to be more transparent and more responsible to the citizens of its District. It's time the people of the District had more of a say in what the hospital does and the quality and types of care it provides. I support live streaming of ALL Board and committee meetings. After the meetings, on-demand videos and podcasts should be available for everyone who missed the live broadcast. We should also explore using Independent Citizens Advisory Committees to help with important decisions.

#3. We need to provide the tools, environment, and staffing levels employees need to excel at their jobs. There are great people working in the hospital, but even the greatest nurse, doctor, or support employee cannot do their best work when they are overloaded and working is a less than optimum environment.
I have owned and/or managed businesses in the local area for almost forty years and have extensive experience in multiple types of business operations. Since 1999, I have owned a Visalia company that develops and manufactures technical products sold worldwide. I was a leader in the “NO, on Measure H” campaign against the Hospital District's unfair taxation of the Districts’ citizens. I believe the hospital needs a new vision that will enhance medical care and improve relations and interactions between the administration, the employees, and the patients. With my business experience, my conservative fiscal beliefs, and my desire to make the Hospital District more responsible to the citizens of the District, I can help Kaweah Delta become a better hospital for its patients with a better work environment for its employees.
