(1) Continued improvement in patient experience. I will continue to encourage efforts to receive feedback on patients' experience at the hospital and their recommendations for improvement, with particular emphasis on the care provided during recovery. In addition, I will focus on encouraging reduced ER wait times and on improving the experience of both patients and families while in the ER. (2) Improved reputation in the community. I will encourage more efforts to communicate with the public regarding the positive experiences, changes and improvements occurring at Sierra View Medical Center. I will encourage more community involvement with the hospital and its staff. I will encourage additional partnerships to be nurtured that will allow for more top-quality doctors and services to be provided. (3) Continued growth. I will encourage the continued expansion of services to meet the medical needs of the community, with priority given to services that are in greatest demand and services that are not currently available in nearby communities.
As a third-generation local native, having been born at Sierra View District Hospital and raised in Porterville, I have deep roots and a strong commitment to see this community grow and thrive. After receiving a quality education at our local schools, I served for two years as a missionary in Toronto, Canada among the Spanish-speaking population. I then went on to receive my bachelor's degree at BYU, and juris doctorate degree from Harvard Law School. After completing law school, I started my professional career working as an attorney in Southern California, before ultimately returning to Porterville to use my education, training and experience to benefit the people in this community. I want to see this community succeed, and I believe that my background, leadership and dedication to this community make me an ideal candidate to serve on the board of directors for Sierra View Medical Center.
