The classroom teacher is a students’ greatest asset; therefore, I will work tirelessly to increase NC teacher pay above the national average. A reasonable living wage for workers and retirees will be a priority during my time in the legislature.
Unfortunately, NC businesses have not established pay equity among race and gender for its citizens; therefore, it is imperative that the general assembly take the lead on this vital concern.
It is imperative that redistricting be done in a fair and impartial manner. A third-party nonpartisan entity should be chosen in order to insure a spirit of equity and fairness.
The first action with regard to K-12 public education should be to replace the ABC model with the growth model. Secondly, the number and frequency of tests should be minimized.
A police-community review board should only make recommendations to the court, with no additional powers.
The beauty and sanctity of NC beaches are a greater asset than endangering our shores.
