Legislative priority one is fully funding pre-K -12 Public schools to include increasing per-pupil funding and teacher pay to national average as a starting point. Legislative priority two is raising minimum wage.
I support Legislative action to raise minimum wage. All jobs should have equal pay for equal work with no exceptions.
NCGA should pass legislation establishing a non-partisan,fair, open and independent process for redistricting. Districts would be drawn based on population and proximity without regard to any other qualifier.
Raise teacher pay to at least national average as a starting point. increase per pupil spending to at least national average with spending to include supplies, counselors and school nurses.
I support properly constituted and funded police-community review boards.
I oppose off shore drilling in any form.

The Bi-Partisan State Board of Ethics and Election Enforcement with equal numbers of members from both major parties is possibly a model to use moving forward to address redistricting in 2020.
Continue the work that the House Select Committee on Education Funding Reform has done this year including bringing in experts from other states' models. Redesign the funding formula model for NC public schools.

I have no experience with police-community review boards. I would need to do more research.
My district isn't directly affected by off-shore drilling. I would bow to experience & concerns of coastal districts.
