My top two priorities focus on education and jobs. Maintaining equity of resources in the public school system and preventing segregated schools while properly funding programs that prepare citizens for the jobs of today are my focus.
NC Legislature should take action to raise minimum wage and work with companies to provide guidance on the necessity of this human right.
The best way to handle redistricting is to use true non-partisan, 3rd party independent agency to assess the census data and appropriately assign district lines based on fair criteria and non-racially or economically motivated methods.
Two priority actions are to change the way teachers are evaluated based on proficiency and growth data as well as providing funding to hire more mental health specialists to work with schools to increase school safety.
Yes, NC municipalities should have the authority to create police-community review boards with powers that empower the community.
I am not in support of off shore drilling as we need alternative fuel sources.
