What are your top 2 or 3 priorities for action on the Board of Education? (40 words maximum)

What policies, if any, are needed to ensure equal access to learning for undocumented students and other students who face possible discrimination from students, school personnel, or others? (30 words maximum)

Explain your position on allowing trained teachers to be armed in classrooms. (briefly respond in 15 words maximum)

Experience (35 words max) I taught fourteen years in Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools. I taught grades 3rd through 7th grade at Moore, Paisley, Kernersville Middle, and served as a Curriculum Coordinator at Atkins Middle School.

Ensure better strategic planning so we can assess and utilize programs that will cause our students to show growth and proficiency.

Ensure effective use of all resources.

Ensure work continues on closing achievement gap.

Federal, state, and local laws and policies will be upheld which state that no student should be discriminated against because of race, religion, orientation, etc.
At this point, I am not an advocate of teachers being armed in classrooms.
Experience (35 words max) After spending 20 years in the financial industry, She decided to focus on her family. She has two children in the WSFCS. She also has multiple degrees in STEM.
1) Raise the literacy rate. Through professional development and initially earning degrees, teachers are have many methods to try if allowed. 2) Promote true school choice and return authority to administrators to help facilitate. 3) Provide a quality education for all
Once a minor child enters the school building, it is the fiduciary responsible of the entire system to protect and keep that minor safe. Their privacy and protection must be insured.
Teachers are to protect students, not provide another means of gaining a weapon.

Equal access to cutting-edge technology and updated textbooks to prepare our children for the challenging jobs of their future. Safe schools and create the tools our children need for mental & emotional health. Improve teacher work environments and increase teacher supplements.
I would uphold our current open door policy as long as it doesn’t conflict with US law.
I am strongly against allowing teachers to be armed in classrooms.

Ensuring that our curriculum is relevant and stimulating for all students, making our schools safe by being caring, and doing what is necessary to attract and retain our employees.
We need to be vigilant about bullying and making sure everyone knows that ALL our students have the same value and rights.
It’s a crazy idea and one I oppose.
Experience (35 words max) I have three daughters in WSFCS. I am PTA President at Morgan Elementary. I am on the board of NCAGT as the State PAGE Coordinator.
Third grade reading is a top priority because it is a significant indicator of future success.

School safety will be another top priority in the next four years.

Everyone doesn't have to go to a 4 year college after high school.
I am not aware of any specific policies that prevent an undocumented child from attending public school.
I am not in favor of arming teachers in classrooms.
