Experience (35 words max) I am a lifelong resident of New Hanover County and served as a North Carolina Senator from 2005-2011 and as a NHC Commissioner from 2000-2004.

The County should approve an ordinance to require a portion of the project be dedicated to affordable housing.
The County should pursue an economical Development Department as recommended by the Gramm report that will recruit new jobs and provide equal employment opportunities.
Immigration Control is a Federal Government Agency and the county acts only as a liaison, and has no direct control.
The County Funds the Sheriff's department and all Transparency and accountability has checks and balances directly from the Office of the Sheriff.

Managing growth with infrastructure that addresses traffic, open space, public safety and affordable housing. Support for education with a focus on Pre-K. Creating a framework for strong economic development. Protecting our coastal environment, safe drinking water.
Advocate for partnerships and cooperation with the City of Wilmington, local non-profits, realtors and homebuilders to develop policies and ordinances that will encourage and incentivize workforce housing.
Targeted incentives that attract clean industries and provide diverse employment opportunities for all residents. Bring back effective incentives for the film industry and restore the jobs that have been lost.
