Active duty U.S. Army for 26 years, private sector business consultant 5 years, Stokes County Manager for 9 years, bachelor’s degree from Appalachian State University and master’s degree from Florida Institute of Technology.
1) County budget is inadequate to meet basic needs and requirements of the county 2) High speed Internet access to residences, businesses and students must be expanded 3) Public school safety and quality critically important. 4) Mental Health access to treatment.
Work closely to implement state and federal programs that provide affordable and quality housing. Also implement all Dept. of Social Services policies that supplement residents during emergencies.
Reverse hiring policy requiring approval of senior job applicants by county commissioners. Hiring approval authority should be the county manager with exception of those positions requiring commissioner approval by statute.
I support full cooperation of all county agencies with federal immigration officials, both now and in the future.
Continue the Sheriff’s current policy of full budget visibility to the public. Currently there are no transparency or accountability issues with the Stokes County Sheriff’s Department.
