Raise Teacher Pay, Equal Pay for Equal Work
The NC Legislature should take action and raise the state minimum wage to a living wage. Pay equity is a must regardless of race, gender, religion or sexual orientation.
Place the process under the authority of neutral arbitrators like the Special Master that recently made decisions on redistricting.
NC ranks 37th nationally in teacher pay/39th in per-pupil spending. NC ranks third highest nationally (25%) in the number of teachers working second jobs. Float State Ed. Bonds/Increase teacher pay.
Yes, subpoena power is needed for more effective Citizens Review Boards.

Experience (35 words max) This is my first attempt at running for public office. I currently serve on the Transit Services advisory committee where I served as co chair in 2016.
Education and improving upward mobility. My plan includes continuing teacher pay raises and vocational/ job training programs.
Raising the minimum wage above what the market allows will cause job losses and price increases. Instead I believe in creating better paying jobs. I fully support the 1963 EPA.
I believe having an independent panel with an equal number of democrats & republicans to draw the lines will be the most fair way to redistrict.
Improved funding for textbooks/ classroom materials & funding for school infrastructure.
I support strengthening police-community boards in an effort to improve relations & trust between the community & police.
I support off-shore drilling because of the jobs & increased independence from foreign oil .
