What policies, if any, are needed to ensure equal access to learning for undocumented students and other students who face possible discrimination from students, school personnel, or others? (30 words maximum)

Explain your position on allowing trained teachers to be armed in classrooms. (briefly respond in 15 words maximum)

Experience (35 words max) I grew up in Greenville and graduated from J.H. Rose High and I joined the U.S Air Force. I received my bachelor’s degree and I now I am a police officer at Pitt Community College.
Set the vision and goals for the district. Adopt policies that give the district direction to set priorities and achieve its goals. Adopt and manage a school safety plan across the board.
The only policy that is needed is to make sure federal guidelines are followed and build a supportive and welcoming institutional environment for undocumented students and their families.
No teacher should ever be armed in a classroom.
Experience (35 words max) I have 20 years of experience within the public school system, working with children turning 3 in the preschool setting through students in early college.
Priorities as a potential school board candidate are to ensure the social, emotional, and physical well being of students, which includes equitable access to mental health services, comprehensive school safety planning and implementation, and strong character education.
Our capacity to ensure access for undocumented students continue to be problematic, particularly in the area of having equal access to higher education with the charging of out-of-state tuition.
I feel that school safety can best be maintained by trained law enforcement versus armed teachers.

Every student safely prepared for life, college and career, and to meaningfully contribute to their communities. Create a system of quality instruction to increase literacy rates for all children. Create a system of behavior supports that will reduce disproportionality in expulsion.
The CODE OF CONDUCT is proper and necessary for the positive governance and operation of the schools. This clarifies standards for all school personnel. Noncompliance may result in discipline.
Our Mission is to provide education for all students and not to add a weapon to fulfill this mission.
