Should I have the opportunity, my goals as judge would include respecting the time of attorneys and litigants and working efficiently to reduce case backlog, as well as rendering thoughtful and legally sound decisions which provide finality and afford litigants the ability to move forward with their lives.
Experience (35 words max) Over a decade of experience representing all parties in Criminal, Family, Civil, and Administrative Law, in both public and private practice. Appeared before State, Federal, and Appeals Courts. Multiple awards for Professionalism and Public Service.
District Court impacts almost everyone. When you come to court it is important that you are confident that your case will be decided based on the facts and the law, nothing else. I support Independent Courts, bringing Experience, Public Service, and Integrity to the bench for the Wake County community.
Experience (35 words max) For over 23 years I have been practicing law in Wake County District Court, longer than all four of the other candidates combined. I was born and raised in North Carolina and I expect I’ll die here, too.

I’ve seen over 23 years of judges in district court, some good, some not so good. I understand how to emulate the good ones and avoid the mistakes of the not so good. I will be fair, impartial, respectful, and empathetic. I will follow the law and not simply follow the lead of other judges.
Experience (35 words max) The vast majority of my legal experience has been practicing in District Court. I have represented hundreds of clients in a variety of Criminal and Civil cases, including motions, trials and hearings.

District Court is the front porch of our judicial system, thus leaving a lasting impression for all whose cases are handled here. Since many have neither the time nor the resources to appeal their decision, what takes place in District Court is vital. If elected, I will be impartial, fair and consistent.
