Experience (35 words max) I served as a district level county commissioner for two years and have served as the elected chairman of the Jackson County Board of Commissioners for ten years.
1. Reinstate the volunteer governing boards of the DSS and the Health Department. 2. Construct a new animal rescue center to provide adequate housing. 3. Work with community partners in addressing the needs of the homeless population.
Land use plans that provide areas for housing opportunities. Facilitate access to utilities. Support nonprofits and builders in utilization of tax credit programs to build new housing units.
Continue local economic development strategies. Work with regional partners to broaden opportunities regionally. Support development agreements with local entrepreneurs who provide living wages in job creation.
Adhere to all federal and state laws, but leave the enforcement of federal immigration policies up to federal authorities.
Continue to have a strong working relationship with the elected Sheriff of Jackson County. Ensure that citizens have access to the public information concerning the Sheriff’s Office.
