Amendment: Party Leaders in Legislature to Control Ethics and Elections Board Appointments; Eliminate Nonpartisan Representation on Board

“Constitutional amendment to establish an eight-member Bipartisan Board of Ethics and Elections Enforcement to administer ethics and elections law.”Common Cause North Carolina recommends you VOTE AGAINST this amendment, and here’s why:North Carolina already has a state elections and ethics board to protect our elections and block corruption. This amendment would change the board to four Democrats and four Republicans. This board is designed to result in gridlock and will keep the board from doing its job on common-sense issues like approving early voting plans.
