1. Education should be local. I do not support the Common Core mandates and SBAC testing. Local School Boards, teachers and parents should set the standards and the curriculum to meet those standards.

2. Small Businesses need relief from the over-burdensome regulations currently stifling their growth potential. An example is healthcare. Health insurance should be available at premiums and deductibles that work best for a business owners current economic situation.

3. Idaho lands should be managed by the state. I believe in the multiple use philosophy.
I do not support Medicaid expansion. We do not need to increase Idaho's dependency on the Federal government which is currently 19 trillion in debt. I would like to open insurance markets across state lines for more economic options. Information should be available about health savings accounts which many individuals currently rely on for some tax relief.
Idaho school endowment funding would increase dramatically if Idaho were to increase timber receipts. This could be accomplished by increasing the land area the state manages which has historically provided for our schools.
I believe government closest to the people works best.

Yes, the state should manage our public lands (they are not federal lands) in Idaho.
I supported permit-less concealed carry as I believe strongly in our 2nd Amendment rights. I would have supported tax relief for Idaho citizens by removing the grocery sales tax. I appreciate that counties can now protect folks from hazards on our public lands.

The proper role is to represent their constituents adhering to the state and federal constitutions.

I think the current system works well but there are some procedural flaws. I believe house and senate committee chairs should be elected by incoming committee members each session. I would want to look at what each legislator brings from personal life experiences and education to appropriately match them to the committee where there would be most benefit.
