I am a past Chairman of the Owyhee County Democrats and also have been a candidate for the Idaho Legislature.

Years living in Idaho
I have lived in Idaho 61 years and Western Oregon 14 years.
Married, three children, eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren.
Farming and ranching are my top priorities. I do not plan on any proposals that will cost the taxpayers of Idaho extra dollars.
Affordable health care. There is a legislative committee currently holding hearings on this problem and the concerns about the Affordable Health Care Act.
Idaho's water policies and management of the water for irrigation and recreation.
I do not have a solution to the burden of the cost of the medical care. Presently there is a legislative committee studying the gap.
I understand that there is Federal funding available for the gap and perhaps changing the income level to meet the requirement of health care. Medicaid is a state and federal funded programs.
The school counselors should be the people that know the students and their potential. The schools have the information available for grants, scholarships and other funding.
Idaho is continually building schools in the areas of the state that have an increase in students. Owyhee County has a four day school week that seems to be effective in dealing with school finances.
Idaho has an obligation to provide public schools for the children residing in the state.
There is a concern about the cost that the state will incur managing the federal lands.
The unfortunate part of the state taking ownership of Federal lands is the concern that they will be sold for private ownership. When this occurs the public is locked out of the area. Fishing, hiking, hunting and camping would not be available to the public.
Pre-empt action on the local level is a topic that seems to involve the ownership and bearing of arms, with the exception that they are not actually fired, towns are not allowed to limit or prohibit its possession.
Mandates from the federal government are often difficult to implement due to the cost of the project.
I support the education budget, public-defense legislation and the water rights in Eastern Idaho.
I oppose not finding a solution to the high cost of health care.
I think that the Legislature functions well, I see no need for a change. The voters are always able to elect the people they feel represent their needs.
I support Hillary Clinton. She was the choice of the majority of Democrats, so she is the candidate for the office of President of the United States.
Listening to the debates, Frontline history of the candidates and articles in the Wall Street Journal are the main reasons that I choose to vote for her.
I have not been convicted of or pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor or felony or had a withheld judgment.
I have never filed bankruptcy or our businesses have never filed bankruptcy.
I closed my flower shop and paid the outstanding bills when it was closed and also I sold the building that I had purchased for the shop.

Public lands. Those who are closest to the land will always be in a better position to care for and manage land. State Land Trust are cost effective and return more revenue to the states. This revenue will fund our state and relieve our dependence on federal funding.
Education: Our children are our future, I am committed to preserving local schools with local control. Local school districts should be required to maintain high academic standards for students. Dollars should not be spent on mandated administrative functions. Dollars should be spent on supporting teachers and improving classroom instruction.
I believe in the sanctity of life. I know that there is life at conception. Those tiny citizens who can not speak for them selves, must be defended and protected. As we come to the end of our life, our dignity must be preserved. We have a duty to ensure the right to natural death is protected.
I support putting people in control of their money and their own lives and health care Insurance and medical care should be returned to the to the private sector. A Market driven health care industry has allowed care givers in the United States to world leaders in medical care. Market driven insurance will assure that insurance costs will be cost effective for all.
The state is obligated to provide funds. Funding that is available is to be directed to providing education to the student, and supporting teachers. Infrastructure is important and should be maintained. Administrative costs should be minimal. Local control is critical. Parental involvement is critical to student success, this will increase the student desire to continue education. Students have a responsibility to engage and actively participate in their education.
Bottom up government is government by the people. The federal government is granted only the powers outlined to it in the constitution. State Government s granted only the powers outlined to it in the state constitution.
Each state has the right to protect its sovereignty.
The State should manage the public lands with in the border of the state. Those closest to the land are the ones in the best position to know how best to manage them. The revenue from public lands going to the State of Idaho will protect our state sovereignty and eliminate the need for funding from federal funding.
