Continue to review our Idaho Tax structure to make it as fair and competitive as possible for individuals and business. We have continued to grow our state budget. I feel its is time to give some tax relief back to the tax payer. We need to continue to assess our Education funding and where there are needs to increase funding. After seeing how the large increases over the last few years are being used and spent.
Medicaid Expansion that some other states have done, I feel this is not the answer. We already have states that have done an expansion, trying to figure out how their going to pay for it, or trying to cut back benefits. If we could work out a Grant system for the State, where we could have control and require more accountability, I could possibly support this type of plan.
We are charged with making our public schools, put out the best possible product with the money that is available. There will never be enough money for the wants, hopefully we can try harder to meet their true needs. We can continue to make available more options for students in votec training and being able to take more college credits in High School.
The less Federal involvement the better. I believe in local control as much as possible. I also feel we need consistency statewide as much as possible in our tax system and some other issues. So when you go from one city to the next you know what the laws are. I have not seen where we could afford to have total control over Federal Lands. It is also clear that we should have more say on the uses of the land.
There was not any legislation I opposed that came to the House floor. I supported a small State income tax reduction. I supported Nexus Legislation to define who should submit Sales tax to the state. I support legislation to better define what is a Hybrid vehicle.
I feel that the present system works. We have our problems at times, but compared to other states, we accomplish quite a lot for the time spent each year.
YES Donald Trump is not my first choice or second choice. But I will not vote for the Clintons. We need change In Washington DC and Trump would bring change.
